The goal of the Civil War Society is to keep alive the memory of the conflict of 1861-65, its causes, consequences, and relevance to present-day America. To this end the Society puts on seminars and battlefield tours, and promotes Civil War education. We plan a major educational initiative in 2005. Subscribers to North & South magazine are automatically members of the Civil War society.
